Hotel Manager

About the role

The hotel in Mbarara District is looking for a proactive, customer‑focused Hotel Manager to lead daily operations across the hotel, restaurant and bar. You will be responsible for delivering excellent guest experiences, driving occupancy and sales, and promoting the property within the local community.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the hotel, restaurant and bar, ensuring cleanliness, safety and maintenance of all areas.
• Manage guest check‑ins, check‑outs and reservations, and resolve complaints promptly.
• Supervise receptionists, housekeepers, cooks, waiters and security staff; prepare rosters and monitor attendance.
• Train staff on service standards, hygiene and customer care.
• Market the hotel to businesses, schools, NGOs and other organisations; develop simple promotional campaigns and manage social media pages.
• Monitor daily sales, expenses and stock levels; handle cash responsibly and prepare basic operational reports.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Tourism or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in hotel, guest house, restaurant or hospitality management.
• Proven experience in customer service and staff supervision.
• Basic marketing and business development abilities.
