Manager, Non Financial Risk, Business & Commercial Banking

About the role

The Manager, Non Financial Risk will lead and oversee Third‑Party Risk Management (TPRM) and broader Non‑Financial Risk (NFR) activities for the Business & Commercial Banking division. The role ensures proactive identification, assessment and mitigation of third‑party and operational risks while supporting anti‑money‑laundering initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and deliver TPRM and NFR activities, including due diligence and risk assessments.
• Provide AML and financial‑crime advice to enable proactive detection of suspicious activities.
• Collaborate with Group AML to stay current on investigative techniques and intelligence gathering.
• Contribute to the Operational Risk Management Framework and promote a culture of compliance.
• Drive the establishment of a Customer Complaints Risk review process.
• Evaluate and update existing risk‑management frameworks against emerging threats.
• Monitor and screen all third‑party relationships for suspicious activity.

Required profile

• First‑degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management or a related field from a recognised institution.
• 8‑10 years of experience leading non‑financial risk functions.
• Strong understanding of risk appetite, risk response and process‑improvement concepts.
• Knowledge of operational risk and financial‑reporting risk characteristics.
• Practical experience with information‑risk standards such as ISF Good Practice and POPIA.
• Familiarity with risk, control frameworks and assurance in the financial‑services industry.
