Molecular Diagnostic Manager, Reagent Manufacturing

About the role

Microhaem Scientifics is seeking a senior leader to own end‑to‑end manufacturing of molecular diagnostic reagents at Africa’s first 4th‑generation IVD plant. You will drive product quality, scale‑up processes, and innovation while ensuring compliance with GMP and ISO 13485 standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee development and commercial production of molecular diagnostic reagents.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of scientists and technicians in formulation research and process optimisation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional groups to align manufacturing with the latest technological advances.
• Implement and monitor quality control measures throughout the production workflow.
• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation to meet operational targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in molecular diagnostic reagent production within a GMP/ISO 13485 environment.
• At least 3 years of experience leading production teams and scaling processes from pilot to commercial batches.
• Proven track record of delivering GMP‑compliant products at scale.
