Senior Recruitment & Business Development Consultant

About the role

IMK Business Consultants, a growing business consulting firm offering recruitment, executive search, talent acquisition, manpower outsourcing and HR consultancy in Uganda and East Africa, is seeking a Senior Recruitment & Business Development Consultant to develop its recruitment division. The role is based in Kampala, full-time, at senior management level, with a competitive salary plus performance-based commissions.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire major corporate clients and secure high-value recruitment contracts with corporations, multinationals, NGOs, financial institutions, manufacturers and government agencies.
• Build and maintain relationships with CEOs, HR directors, procurement managers and other senior decision-makers, and prepare commercial proposals and service agreements.
• Establish the recruitment division: design its business model, policies, SOPs, sourcing and placement processes, and introduce applicant tracking systems and digital platforms.
• Recruit, train and supervise a team of recruitment consultants and business development executives, and set performance indicators and revenue targets.
• Expand into Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan, and develop solutions for oil and gas, banking, manufacturing, construction, hospitality, healthcare, IT, logistics and NGOs.
• Build recurring corporate contracts and revenue streams from executive search, permanent placements, temporary staffing and outsourced workforce management, and report regularly to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Management or a related discipline; a master's or professional recruitment certification is an advantage.
• 7-10 years of experience in recruitment consultancy, executive search, talent acquisition or recruitment business development.
• 3-5 years in a senior commercial, recruitment management or business development leadership position.
• Demonstrated experience establishing and expanding a recruitment consultancy and personally securing major corporate contracts.
• Strong network among corporate HR executives, business owners and procurement departments.

Required skills

• Knowledge of recruitment and staffing markets in Uganda and East Africa.
• Negotiation and contract management experience.
• Understanding of recruitment technologies and digital sourcing platforms.
• Commercial judgment, financial management and strategic planning.
