Talent Acquisition Manager

About the role

The Talent Acquisition Manager will lead the end‑to‑end recruitment function for SMARTEC ELECTRONICS LTD in Uganda, aligning talent strategies with business goals and ensuring a diverse, high‑quality pipeline of candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a country‑wide talent acquisition plan that supports strategic priorities and business unit needs.
• Design innovative sourcing strategies, including headhunting, talent mapping, candidate databases, job board advertising, industry networking, and partnerships with government labour agencies.
• Implement cost‑saving resourcing initiatives to reduce reliance on external agencies and promote direct‑to‑market talent capture.
• Manage senior and niche searches, ensuring internal mobility is prioritized before external sourcing.
• Advise hiring managers on candidate progression, negotiate release dates and back‑fill requirements, and oversee timely onboarding.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, communicate talent acquisition plans, and provide regular performance updates.
• Oversee the Talent Acquisition Scorecard and vacancy tracker, delivering accurate reporting and analytics.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 5 years of experience in talent acquisition, preferably within retail, fashion or FMCG sectors.
• Proven ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies and manage stakeholder relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in recruitment metrics and reporting.
