Association Manager

About the role

The Uganda Alcohol Industry Association is seeking an energetic, highly organised professional to lead the association’s advocacy, stakeholder engagement, communications and governance agenda. Reporting to the Chairperson, the Association Manager will coordinate workplans, policy initiatives and member relations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual workplan, policy agenda, stakeholder engagement and progress reporting.
• Monitor policy and regulatory developments and prepare briefs, submissions and engagement plans.
• Organise AGMs, Executive Committee meetings, member forums and technical sessions, handling notices, agendas, papers and logistics.
• Prepare accurate minutes, maintain decision and action trackers and follow up on actions.
• Maintain the membership database, issue fee requests, track dues and support budgeting and financial administration.
• Manage the association’s website, digital records and mailing lists, and implement communications plans.
• Prepare periodic reports on policy priorities, stakeholder engagements, membership, finances and risks.
• Liaise with UMA, PSFU, government institutions and other trade associations to advance the agenda.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, economics, business administration, communications, development studies or related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in association management, corporate affairs, public policy or stakeholder engagement.
• Proven ability to prepare policy briefs, position papers, executive reports and high‑quality minutes.
• Experience coordinating diverse stakeholders and building consensus with senior business and government leaders.
• Strong project management skills, integrity and sound judgement.
