Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Intern

About the role

The United Nations Regional Service Centre Entebbe is looking for a Data Analytics and Business Intelligence Intern to support its reporting, knowledge‑management and data‑analytics initiatives. This internship offers hands‑on experience in data analysis, visualisation and business‑intelligence within a global organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, analyse and interpret data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights.
• Develop reports, dashboards and visualisations that aid operational and strategic decision‑making.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews to ensure data accuracy, consistency and reliability.
• Support the design, development, testing and maintenance of BI and reporting solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into analytics solutions.
• Prepare documentation, user guides, procedures and knowledge‑management resources.
• Assist in preparing management reports, presentations and business communication materials using Microsoft 365.
• Monitor data quality and support information‑management activities.
• Provide end‑user support by troubleshooting reporting and BI tools.

Required profile

• Be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology or a related field.
• No prior work experience is required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of SQL, Python or R (preferred).
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau or other data‑visualisation tools (desired).
