Driver (Hospitality Transport)

About the role

The Hotel Driver provides safe and courteous transportation for guests and staff at the Marriott property in Kampala. This role ensures all trips are documented, vehicles are well‑maintained, and guests receive a welcoming experience consistent with Marriott standards.

Key responsibilities

• Transport guests to and from assigned destinations using the property vehicle.
• Document each trip before departure and after completion.
• Park the vehicle in the designated location when not in use.
• Inspect the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, tire pressure, and fluid levels; refuel as needed.
• Notify appropriate personnel of any maintenance requirements.
• Record and report vehicle incidents, damages, or accidents to a manager or supervisor.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; complete required safety training.
• Follow all company policies, maintain a professional appearance, and protect confidential information.
• Greet and acknowledge guests according to company standards, assisting individuals with disabilities when needed.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues using two‑way radios, pagers, and email.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior related work experience required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to inspect vehicles for safety and maintenance needs.
• Commitment to safety reporting and completion of required certifications.
• Professional appearance and ability to maintain confidentiality.
