Enterprise Banker

About the role

The Enterprise Banker will drive business performance by acquiring new customers and expanding relationships with existing ones. Working within the branch, you will act as the primary point of contact for Business Banking clients, delivering sales, service, and credit solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sales and service to Business Banking customers, aiming to increase wallet share.
• Open Enterprise banking accounts in line with recruitment policies and procedures.
• Promote and explain bank products during specific campaigns, meeting and exceeding sales targets.
• Identify new and existing customer opportunities, propose suitable products, and generate interest through face‑to‑face or telephone contact.
• Originate and submit credit applications to the commercial credit team, adhering to Absa Africa SME lending guidelines.
• Conduct customer meetings with clear objectives and follow‑up plans.
• Maintain sales performance statistics for management reporting.
• Collaborate with branch staff to refer customers to the Enterprise Banker when appropriate.
• Complete account opening documentation and submit for review before processing.
• Perform financial analysis and statement review for loan proposals, communicating decisions or denials to customers.
• Handle post‑opening customer communication, welcome packs, and ongoing service queries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in business or enterprise banking, with a track record of meeting sales targets.
• Strong understanding of credit assessment guidelines and ability to prepare credit applications.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with both customers and internal teams.
• Ability to analyse financial statements and make informed lending recommendations.
• Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple client interactions.
