Facilities Manager

About the role

As the Facilities Manager you will report directly to the General Manager and be fully accountable for the performance, reliability and service delivery of our flagship hospitality assets in Kampala. You will lead the maintenance of mechanical, electrical and building systems, ensuring seamless operations and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programmes using CAFM/CMMS tools to minimise downtime.
• Manage contracts and supervise third‑party vendors and internal teams delivering hard (MEP) and soft (cleaning, grounds) services.
• Control the facilities budget, track utilities and implement cost‑saving energy conservation measures.
• Ensure strict compliance with Uganda’s Occupational Safety and Health Act of 2006 and international building standards.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for property owners, providing asset lifecycle reports and KPI presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Economics or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing high‑end commercial, corporate or hospitality facilities.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to lead teams under pressure.

Required skills

• Expertise in MEP systems including HVAC chillers, central distribution switchgear.
• Proficiency with building automation systems and CAFM/CMMS maintenance software.
