Head of Finance – Montessori School

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Finance to lead the financial function of Rowntree Montessori. The successful candidate will ensure robust financial planning, compliance and strategic advice to support the school’s mission of delivering high‑quality education.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee annual budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting, financial reporting and month‑end close.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and school policies.
• Provide financial analysis and strategic advice to senior school leadership.
• Supervise finance staff and promote continuous improvement in financial systems.

Required profile

• Degree in finance, accounting or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in financial management, preferably within an educational setting.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to communicate financial information clearly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with financial software.
