ICSS Commissioning Supervisor – Oil & Gas Pipeline Project

About the role

The ICSS Commissioning Supervisor will lead the commissioning and start‑up of control and safety systems for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) facilities. Based in Kampala with rotational assignments in Tanzania and Uganda, the role ensures that contractor activities are executed safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all ICSS commissioning activities, including loop checks, functional testing and cause‑and‑effect verification.
• Validate testing procedures, commissioning schedules and integration between control systems and field equipment.
• Coordinate interfaces with instrumentation, electrical and other engineering disciplines.
• Manage contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements.
• Provide technical support during start‑up phases and assist in troubleshooting.
• Review commissioning dossiers, hand‑over documentation and support final acceptance.

Required profile

• Degree in Automation, Control Systems, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of commissioning experience in oil & gas projects.
• Proven experience with ICSS, DCS, ESD, F&G and SCADA systems.
• Strong communication skills in English; French is a plus.
• Ability to work in a rotational, multi‑site environment.
