Import & Export Supervisor

About the role

The Import & Export Supervisor will lead the daily operations of Twyford International's Uganda Import & Export Department. You will ensure smooth trade, factory imports and export processes while supporting the factory’s scaling efforts and maintaining compliance with international regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily import and export activities, planning and monitoring departmental tasks to meet production schedules.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve SOPs for import/export operations.
• Lead, coach and evaluate the Import & Export team, delivering onboarding, training and performance feedback.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Finance, Warehouse, Production, Sales and external partners such as customs authorities, freight forwarders and shipping lines.
• Oversee customs clearance, resolve documentation issues, shipment delays and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Manage factory import/export projects, monitor timelines, identify risks and apply corrective actions.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience (minimum 5 years) in import/export or trade logistics.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high‑performing team.
• Strong knowledge of customs procedures, trade regulations and documentation.
• Excellent coordination skills across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
