Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager will lead Kabra Plastics Ltd’s manufacturing activities in Kampala, ensuring that production runs smoothly, meets quality standards and delivers on schedule. This role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management of resources, staff and processes to drive efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise daily production operations to achieve output targets and maintain product quality.
• Plan and monitor production schedules, coordinating with Sales, Procurement and Warehouse to guarantee timely order fulfillment.
• Manage raw material usage, machinery maintenance and workforce allocation for optimal efficiency.
• Track production costs, identify waste reduction opportunities and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Lead, coach and evaluate the production team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Prepare regular operational and production reports for senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or production operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Prior experience in the plastics industry is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
