Partnerships and Program Development Specialist

About the role

The Partnerships and Program Development Specialist supports FAO Uganda’s effort to mobilize resources and build strategic partnerships aligned with the Country Programming Framework 2026‑2030. Working closely with programme staff and other units, the specialist ensures systematic donor intelligence, pipeline management, and high‑quality engagement with bilateral and multilateral partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop up‑to‑date briefing notes on priority resource partners, covering funding priorities, investment trends and alignment with FAO Uganda’s CPF.
• Maintain and update the Resource Mobilisation (RM) Opportunities Pipeline, tracking engagements throughout their lifecycle.
• Prepare summary pipeline reports for monthly coordination meetings.
• Support programme and RM coordination meetings by setting agendas, taking notes, documenting outcomes and ensuring follow‑up.
• Coordinate donor‑facing engagements, including agenda‑setting, presentation development, logistics and post‑meeting debriefs.
• Draft donor correspondence in collaboration with technical staff and maintain action trackers for each engagement.
• Develop structured project briefs that outline strategic approaches for potential funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Experience in resource mobilisation, donor engagement or partnership development within an international development context.
• Strong understanding of FAO’s strategic objectives and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce concise briefing notes and reports.
• Ability to work collaboratively across programme, operations, MEAL and communication units.
