Part‑time Full‑stack Developer (Hybrid)

About the role

YooKatale is looking for a part‑time Full‑stack Developer to join its hybrid team in Kampala. You will help build and maintain web and mobile‑facing features that enable users and partners to buy, sell, and advertise food products across Uganda.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement user interfaces for web and mobile platforms.
• Develop, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs and server‑side services.
• Manage databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Optimize application performance, security, and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, write documentation, and improve development tooling.

Required profile

• Strong full‑stack development experience with end‑to‑end application delivery.
• Solid front‑end skills, including CSS and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Back‑end expertise in API development, databases, and server‑side frameworks.
• Good problem‑solving, debugging, and code‑optimization abilities.
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Kampala and adapt to a fast‑evolving startup.
