Project Architect – Kampala Construction

About the role

The Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a senior Project Architect to lead the architectural and construction quality assurance for a 24‑month project in Kampala, Uganda. The role involves full technical oversight, cost estimation, and coordination with contractors to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site technical inspections of architectural work and document progress.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and monitor the contractor’s quality‑control program.
• Review project drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals for compliance.
• Monitor construction progress against schedule and submit weekly progress reports.
• Evaluate contractor‑proposed remedies, formulate solutions, and provide photographic records for reports.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and assess material samples and catalogs.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience on construction projects of similar scope and value.
• Senior‑level professional with proven architectural renovation experience.
• Overseas project experience is preferred.
• Ability to interpret design and construction documents and ensure contract compliance.
