Project Architect – Kampala, Uganda

About the role

The Project Architect will lead the architectural and construction quality assurance for a 24‑month development in Kampala, Uganda. Reporting to the Project Director, you will ensure that all design and construction activities meet contract specifications and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform technical inspections of architectural work and document progress.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and monitor the contractor’s quality‑control program.
• Review project drawings, specifications, shop drawings and submittals for compliance.
• Monitor construction progress against schedule and submit weekly progress reports.
• Evaluate contractor‑proposed remedies, formulate solutions and ensure corrective actions are taken.
• Maintain digital photographic records and prepare construction reports for the OBO PD.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience on construction projects of similar scope and value.
• Senior‑level professional with proven architectural renovation experience.
• Design‑office experience does not count toward the required experience.
• Overseas experience is preferred.
