Projectionist

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Projectionist to support a U.S. Navy morale, welfare, and recreation program on Diego Garcia. The role involves operating, maintaining, and monitoring audiovisual projection and sound equipment for movie screenings and special events in a remote, mission‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and shut down digital projection and sound systems for scheduled screenings and events.
• Monitor audio‑visual quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and minimize service interruptions.
• Load and schedule digital content, verify playback settings, and ensure compliance with operating procedures.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain screening schedules, logs, and keep the projection booth and theater areas orderly.
• Support morale and welfare initiatives for personnel stationed on the island.
• Perform additional duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience operating audiovisual, projection, or similar technical equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or special‑event schedules.
• Valid passport with at least one year remaining and ability to obtain required visas.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain facility credentials.
• Proficiency in English sufficient to follow instructions and comply with installation requirements.
