About the role
The World Food Programme is seeking a Senior Business Support Associate to provide operational, administrative, financial and coordination support for its Kampala Fleet Hub and the Transport Training Centre. The role ensures efficient delivery of fleet services and training programmes across the East and Southern Africa region.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate deployment and utilisation of fleet assets, ensuring timely bookings and invoicing.
- Manage light‑vehicle service and maintenance requests, processing related invoices.
- Liaise with outsourced drivers and mechanics, handling service contracts and monthly invoices.
- Oversee the Fleet Hub petty‑cash account, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
- Process procurement and financial transactions such as Purchase Requisitions and Material Purchase Orders.
- Support the Regional Fleet Manager in delivering fleet services across the region.
- Act as focal point for Transport Training Centre activities, assisting with training needs assessments and programme delivery.
- Organise training events, workshops and meetings, handling logistics, invitations, visas and service providers.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate information sharing and service delivery.
- Assist in communication and visibility activities, preparing outreach materials and managing audio‑visual content.
Required profile
- Secondary school education or university degree (Diploma/Bachelor) in Supply Chain or a related field.
- At least seven years of experience with a secondary school certificate, or a university degree with a minimum of three years in supply‑chain/fleet management.
- Fluency in oral and written English with strong writing skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
- Knowledge of fleet management and transport operations.
- Experience with procurement, invoice processing and budget tracking.
- Ability to manage audio‑visual content and support communication activities.
