Unit Manager – Sales Team Lead

About the role

The Unit Manager will lead a sales unit within ICEA Insurance’s Prime Plaza branch in Kampala. You will be responsible for building, coaching and sustaining a high‑performing team of at least 20 agents who sell life assurance policies. The role combines field activity coordination, market research and strict compliance oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, motivate and retain a sales force of not less than 20 agents.
• Conduct field activities such as activation site setup, group presentations and other outreach events.
• Ensure the team meets weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets.
• Maintain accurate records of agents’ biodata for future reference.
• Guarantee regulatory compliance of all agents.
• Identify market opportunities and conduct research to generate future sales.
• Sell life assurance policies after thorough education and needs analysis.
• Submit daily, weekly and monthly performance reports for each agent.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 months of experience in sales, preferably within insurance.
• Strong ability to lead, coach and retain a team.
• Excellent organizational and record‑keeping skills.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in the insurance sector.
• Good analytical skills for market identification.
