About the role
The Workshop Service Clerk is the first point of contact for customers visiting the workshop. You will manage vehicle check‑ins, coordinate appointments and keep clients informed throughout the service process.
Key responsibilities
- Greet walk‑in, telephone and online customers courteously.
- Record customer details, vehicle information and service requests on job cards.
- Perform a preliminary visual inspection of incoming vehicles and note any pre‑existing damage.
- Assign job cards to technicians or service bays as directed by the Workshop Manager.
- Track progress of each job, update customers on status and estimated completion times.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints and follow‑up calls after vehicle delivery.
- Maintain clear communication between customers and the technical team without handling financial transactions.
Required profile
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail for accurate data entry and vehicle inspection.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced workshop environment.
- Basic computer literacy for job‑card management.
