Apprentice Application Support Analyst (6‑Month Programme)

About the role

This 6‑month apprenticeship offers a hands‑on opportunity to support core banking and digital applications within a leading African bank. You will help maintain application availability, participate in change delivery, and gain exposure to testing and release processes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report on application availability, reliability and maintainability.
• Facilitate delivery changes on core systems and support digital channel applications.
• Reduce incident frequency and duration through proactive analysis.
• Administer databases on core application servers and perform capability analysis.
• Automate business processes and assist in designing new applications that coexist with existing ones.
• Collaborate with Release Analysts, conduct installation and functional testing, and coordinate user‑acceptance testing.
• Review documentation, validate testing results and support post‑release activities.
• Work with the IT Risk and Governance team to improve risk controls and compliance.

Required profile

• Valid transcript and graduation between 2025‑2026 with a First Class or Second‑Class Upper degree.
• Strong analytical and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Willingness to undertake training, performance development and accreditation as required.
