Asset Care Engineer – Lead Maintenance for Spirits Production

About the role

The Asset Care Engineer leads all engineering and maintenance activities within the spirits production section of East African Breweries. You will ensure safe, reliable and cost‑effective performance of plant assets to meet production, quality and customer service targets. This role combines leadership of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation teams with end‑to‑end asset care management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute maintenance activities for spirits production assets.
• Lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians responsible for plant repairs and upkeep.
• Coordinate internal resources and external engineering support to maximise asset availability.
• Monitor performance, evaluate reliability data and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with engineering, health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Implement world‑class engineering procedures, standards and guidelines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in plant maintenance or asset management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑site operation across East Africa.
• Commitment to safety, quality and sustainability.
