QA Auditor / Inspector

About the role

Amentum is hiring a QA Auditor / Inspector in Kampala, Kamwokya. The role enforces the Contractor's Quality Management System (QMS) so that work complies with contractual specifications, policies and procedures. It is a key position for maintaining quality standards, inspecting performance and spotting areas for improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Enforce the Contractor's QMS across the project and conduct quality audits, inspections and reviews during daily operations.
• Monitor and document work activities during the Government's regular working hours, coordinating directly with the Quality Manager while remaining independent of the Project Manager.
• Inspect completed and ongoing work against specifications and technical requirements, and make sure inspectors have the right expertise.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and audits and prepare reports for the Quality Manager.
• Ensure compliance with documented quality processes, safety protocols and regulations, and help teams fix nonconformities and prevent recurrence.
• Take part in training to stay current with industry best practices and QMS standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or QA-related certifications are an advantage.
• At least three years of experience enforcing QMS in environments similar in scope and size to the project.
• Qualifications and experience equal to or exceeding those of the personnel being inspected.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and hold a valid passport (at least one year); ability to obtain country-specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
• English reading, speaking and comprehension sufficient to carry out contract duties.

Required skills

• In-depth knowledge of quality assurance/inspection processes and compliance systems.
• Excellent organization and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Preferred: prior experience in austere OCONUS environments with a multi-national workforce, experience on government, military or industrial quality standards projects, and advanced QMS auditing knowledge such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification.
