Assistant Manager Loss Prevention

About the role

Assist in managing daily loss prevention and security operations to protect property, assets, guests and employees at Marriott International in Kampala.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Director of Engineering with fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness.
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments, quarterly OSHA/Safety audits and incident tracking.
• Develop and follow shutdown procedures, key control guidelines and monthly equipment checklists for CCTV, alarmed doors and duress alarms.
• Perform patrols, monitor unusual activities, handle complaints and resolve conflicts.
• Oversee loss prevention operations including investigations, shipping/receiving reviews, electronic key system management and claims processing.
• Guide the Accident Prevention Committee, first‑aid program and the overall safety of guests and staff.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years of security/loss‑prevention experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Criminal Justice with 1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to train staff on emergency procedures and maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
