Associate Director, Right-Fit Evidence Unit

About the role

The Associate Director will lead a portfolio of evidence and learning advisory engagements for funders, implementers and governments, helping them turn data into decisions. Based in IPA’s Right‑Fit Evidence Unit, the role combines strategic leadership, client management and technical guidance across sectors such as education, health, agriculture and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of 3‑5 concurrent advisory projects (65‑75% of time), designing learning strategies, M&E systems and evidence‑based solutions.
• Act as senior point of contact for a diverse client base, overseeing workshops on theory of change, learning plan design and other deliverables.
• Provide technical assistance on cost‑effectiveness analysis, A/B testing, mixed‑methods evaluations and capacity‑building for data‑driven decision‑making.
• Manage and develop performance of multiple managers and advisors, supporting their professional growth.
• Contribute to business development, thought leadership and external relationship management (15‑20% of time), including representing RFE at conferences.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in evidence‑based advisory work for development or humanitarian organisations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams and manage complex, high‑impact projects.
• Strong client‑facing skills with experience working with funders, implementers and government agencies.
• Track record of contributing to thought leadership and new‑business generation.
