Board Member – Part‑time Hybrid Role

About the role

YooKatale is seeking a part‑time Board Member to help shape the strategic direction of its mobile food marketplace in Uganda. This hybrid position combines occasional on‑site meetings in Kampala with remote collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Attend and actively contribute to regular board meetings.
• Review, approve, and monitor strategic plans, policies, budgets and risk‑management frameworks.
• Provide guidance on market expansion, partnerships and technology integration.
• Support senior leadership in high‑impact decisions and ensure alignment with the company’s mission and values.
• Engage with stakeholders as needed and uphold high ethical standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in governance, board leadership, or senior management, preferably in technology, food systems or social impact.
• Strong strategic thinking, data interpretation and risk‑assessment abilities.
• Solid understanding of finance, budgeting and financial statement review.
• Background in business development, partnerships or stakeholder engagement across diverse communities.
• Familiarity with the Ugandan or broader East African market is a plus.
