Business Development & Marketing Executive

About the role

The Business Development & Marketing Executive will drive revenue growth for Tankhill Inn, a boutique 13‑room hotel in Muyenga, Kampala. Reporting to the General Manager, the role combines sales, marketing and guest‑relations activities to increase RevPAR, fill the on‑site restaurant and secure high‑value corporate contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting NGOs, embassies, government agencies, corporations, executives and long‑stay expatriates.
• Conduct outbound calls, site visits and presentations, negotiate room rates, framework agreements and group blocks.
• Identify and convert upselling opportunities, such as stay‑and‑dine packages and room upgrades.
• Promote The Grill Room as a premier neighbourhood dining venue, securing corporate lunches, private dinners and intimate events.
• Build referral and partnership programmes with local HR departments, event planners and social clubs.
• Prepare and submit bids, tenders and commercial documentation, and manage daily sales pipeline.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to two years of relevant experience in sales, marketing or hospitality.
• Strong “hunter” mentality with proven ability to generate leads and close corporate contracts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging senior decision‑makers.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced boutique hotel environment.
