Certified Surgical Technician

About the role

Novamed is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join its operating‑room team in Kamwokya. You will work closely with surgeons and assistants to ensure every procedure runs smoothly, safely, and in compliance with infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, drapes, and solutions for each surgery.
• Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, and transport to the procedure room.
• Pass instruments, retract tissue, cut sutures, and perform other duties under surgeon supervision.
• Conduct safety checks, count sponges/needles, and manage specimen handling.
• Clean, restock, and decontaminate the operating room, including sterilization and quality testing.
• Maintain physician preference cards and assist with inventory management.

Required profile

• Entry‑level certification with at least 12 months of operating‑room experience.
• Team‑oriented attitude and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong adherence to state and federal health regulations.
