Casual Housekeeping Aide

About the role

The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable environment for all patients, staff, and visitors by ensuring that all types of cleaning are performed throughout the hospital facility indoors and out. This includes daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning of patient areas, non‑patient areas, offices and common areas in accordance with Manitoulin Health Centre standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning of patient and non‑patient areas, offices and common areas.
• Ensure cleaning complies with Manitoulin Health Centre standards and infection‑control guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas and hospital grounds.
• Restock cleaning supplies and report inventory needs.

Required profile

• Partial Secondary School education (Grade 10) minimum.
• Previous cleaning experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration abilities.
• Ability to follow infection‑control procedures and safety policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and the Learning Management System.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, techniques, and best practices.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals handling and WHMIS safety standards.
