Chief of Party – Global Health Initiative

About the role

ChildFund is seeking a Chief of Party to lead a multi‑year U.S. Department of State funded initiative in Uganda. Based in Kampala, the COP will provide strategic leadership, technical direction, and managerial oversight for a program that strengthens national systems and community services that protect children, promote healthy development, and prevent child‑family separation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall program strategy, ensuring alignment with donor requirements and ChildFund’s mission.
• Oversee implementation of child protection systems strengthening, early childhood development, and evidence‑based family strengthening components.
• Manage a multidisciplinary team, budgets, and reporting mechanisms for a fixed‑term, multi‑year project.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the U.S. Department of State, Ugandan government counterparts, implementing partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure high‑quality support for frontline social service providers and vulnerable children and families.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in public health, social work, international development or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading large‑scale development programs, preferably with U.S. government funding.
• Demonstrated expertise in child protection systems, social service workforce strengthening, and holistic early childhood development.
• Proven ability to represent an organization at senior government and donor levels.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
