Commercial Officer

About the role

The company is looking for a commercially aware, organised and proactive Commercial Officer to support its commercial operations and help progress opportunities from initial enquiry through proposal, follow‑up and order confirmation. The role involves customer engagement, proposal preparation, CRM administration and cross‑functional coordination with Engineering, Finance, Operations, Procurement and Fulfilment teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and progress commercial opportunities from enquiry through proposal, negotiation and order confirmation.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, tenders and other commercial submissions.
• Follow up active opportunities and customer engagements to support conversion and revenue growth.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date CRM records and commercial pipeline information.
• Coordinate commercial requirements across relevant internal teams.
• Support pricing, proposal development and commercial analysis in line with approved company standards.
• Monitor open opportunities and ensure appropriate follow‑up actions are taken.
• Support key account development, repeat business and additional commercial opportunities.

• Commercially aware and confident dealing with customers.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working with pricing, proposals and commercial information.
• Quick learner of products, systems and processes.
• Proactive, accountable and strong at follow‑through.
• Comfortable working independently and coordinating across different teams.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM systems.
• Experience with ERP or other business management systems.
