Communications Officer – Youth Inclusion Project (West Nile)

About the role

The Communications Officer will lead and coordinate communications and documentation for Restless Development’s Youth Inclusion in Governance and Decision‑making (YIGA) project in West Nile, Uganda. The role ensures that programme activities, youth perspectives and evidence are captured in real time and turned into high‑quality communications for young people, partners, donors and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Document YIGA activities, achievements and lessons across Arua, Terego and Madi‑Okollo, producing articles, case studies, profiles and newsletters.
• Develop and publish stories that show how young people influence governance, accountability and service delivery.
• Work with Programme, MEL and Advocacy teams to translate evidence and data into clear communications products.
• Create youth‑friendly content for Restless Development’s website, social media and other digital platforms, ensuring branding and donor visibility compliance.
• Prepare press releases, media briefs, talking points and coordinate media coverage of programme activities and public engagements.
• Maintain a communications and documentation plan aligned with the workplan, track deliverables and support timely completion.
