Community Mobiliser – Volunteer (Startups Harambe Run)

About the role

Starting immediately and running through event day on 29 November 2026, this part‑time, on‑site volunteer role supports the Startups Harambe Run in Kampala, helping to mobilise entrepreneurs, students and investors and to promote the event across multiple channels.

Key responsibilities

• Organise run meetings and mobilise community members, including entrepreneurs, students and investors.
• Drive online campaigns (#StartupsHarambeRun, #CapitalHarambeRun) and create/distribute digital content.
• Support ticket, kit sales and sponsorship conversations, and coordinate logistics with the organising committee.
• Lead warm‑up and training sessions for participants (Workout Trainer track) or guide routes and ensure crowd safety on event day (Run Marshal track).

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for community building and events.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities, able to work independently and in a team.
• Physical fitness for trainer or marshal tracks.
• Interest in entrepreneurship, startup ecosystem and capital/investment awareness.

Required skills

• Community mobilisation, event organising or marketing & sales.
• Social media management, content creation or digital marketing.
