Country Director

About the role

The Country Director will lead YooKatale’s operations, growth and impact across Uganda. Based in Kampala, this full‑time hybrid role combines regular on‑site engagement with teams, partners and customers, while allowing some flexibility to work from home.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the country strategy aligned with the company’s mission and values.
• Manage budgets, resources and performance metrics to ensure sustainable growth.
• Lead, develop and motivate cross‑functional teams across sales, operations and technology.
• Drive customer‑centric initiatives and improve service delivery.
• Build and maintain partnerships with suppliers, community organisations, regulators and other key stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with local regulations and company policies.
• Identify new market opportunities and oversee business development activities.
• Represent YooKatale in external forums to enhance brand visibility and trust.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and people‑management experience, including team development and performance management.
• Strong strategic planning and execution capabilities at a country or regional level.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship‑management skills.
• Background in business development, market expansion or social enterprise, preferably within food systems or digital platforms.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation and consensus‑building abilities.
• Experience working in hybrid or technology‑enabled organisations.
• Robust problem‑solving and decision‑making orientation with a customer‑centric mindset.
