Country Director – Uganda

About the role

CBM is seeking a Country Director to lead its operations in Uganda. The role oversees a programme budget of USD 3–10 million, ensuring high‑quality delivery of disability and inclusive development initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor the Country Plan in line with CBM’s global strategy.
• Maintain strong financial discipline, manage budgeting, reporting and compliance for all grants.
• Identify and pursue strategic programme opportunities that enhance CBM’s relevance and impact.
• Represent CBM to donors, government authorities, partners, media and local communities.
• Coordinate Board activities and the Annual General Assembly according to governance requirements.
• Build and sustain a high‑performing workforce, overseeing recruitment, development and performance management.
• Report to the Regional Hub Director and execute any additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in senior management within an INGO or international development setting.
• Proven expertise in strategic planning, programme oversight and organisational development.
• Strong background in financial management, budgeting, grant administration and compliance.
• Experience in disability, development or related sectors is preferred.
