Country Finance Director

About the role
The Country Finance Director provides strategic financial leadership for WCS Uganda, ensuring robust financial management, compliance with global policies, donor requirements, and national legislation. Reporting to the Country Director and dotted‑line to the Global CFO, the role oversees finance staff across QEPA and MFPA sites and supports the overall Country Program business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development of annual institutional and project budgets, ensuring realistic forecasting and full cost recovery.
- Provide regular financial analysis and decision‑support to the Country Director and senior management.
- Supervise finance teams, implementing partners, sub‑grantees, and contractors to mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure transparent use of resources, safeguard assets, and deliver accurate financial information for decision‑making and donor accountability.
- Participate in fundraising activities, including grant proposal writing and donor engagement.
Required profile
- Proven experience in senior financial leadership within international NGOs or similar organizations.
- Strong understanding of donor compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
- Ability to advise senior management and support strategic program planning.
