Country Manager – Uganda

About the role

The Country Manager will spearhead the launch and expansion of Twezimbe’s Group Savings and Bereavement Fund across Uganda. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for building the brand, driving user adoption, and establishing strategic partnerships to make the platform a household name.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the national rollout of the Group Savings and Bereavement Fund, targeting 1,000+ active groups in the first year.
• Develop and execute growth strategies to reach 100,000 active users and process significant transaction volume.
• Identify, negotiate, and secure partnerships with banks, telecom operators, insurers, and local governments.
• Build, mentor, and manage a field and digital growth team across multiple districts.
• Ensure compliance with KYC requirements and oversee fund payout operations.
• Coordinate launch activities, pilot programs, and market readiness for future product features.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in growth, partnerships, or operations leadership.
• Proven track record scaling digital platforms or community‑based solutions.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with high execution discipline.
• Fluent in English and at least one major Ugandan language.
