Demand Planner – Q‑Commerce (Uganda)

About the role

As a Demand Planner in Glovo's Q‑Commerce Micro Fulfillment Centers (MFC) vertical, you will be responsible for forecasting product demand and coordinating purchase orders to keep stores stocked while minimizing waste. You will work closely with category, marketing and operations teams to align forecasts with supply‑chain capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Improve forecast accuracy using historical sales data, adjusting for promotions, seasonality, special events and new products.
• Collaborate with category management, marketing and operations to gather information for demand planning.
• Maintain and adjust purchasing tool parameters such as safety stocks and bank holidays.
• Create purchase orders, monitor supplier deliveries and manage replenishment for MFCs.
• Enhance supplier performance (fill rates, delays, incidents) through communication and improvement plans.
• Monitor and report supply‑chain KPIs for the country.
• Analyze inventory data (availability, turnover, shrinkage, fill rates) to identify trends and risks.
• Drive action plans to optimise processes, reduce costs and improve overall supply‑chain efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or a Supply Chain/Operations discipline.
• At least two years of relevant experience in supply‑chain demand or supply planning.
• Strong business judgment, written and oral communication skills and a practical, results‑oriented approach.
• Ability to analyse and interpret data with critical thinking.
• Proficiency in Google Applications.
• Fluent in English.
