Dietitian / Menu Planner

About the role

Amentum is seeking a qualified Dietitian / Menu Planner to design and manage 21‑day cycle menus for a U.S. Navy program. The position is based in Kampala, Uganda, and supports the delivery of nutritious, high‑quality meals to a diverse customer base.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a 21‑day cycle menu using the Food Service Management (FSM) system or equivalent.
• Ensure all menus comply with Department of Defense (DoD) food service directives and U.S. Navy nutritional standards.
• Promote healthy, balanced meal options and monitor menu variety and customer preferences.
• Prepare and certify menus in collaboration with Navy officials, documenting compliance and quality.
• Analyze menu items for nutritional value and incorporate best‑practice dietary guidelines.
• Guide food service staff on portioning, preparation, and nutritional goals.
• Maintain records of menu planning, certification, and vendor product reviews.
• Address stakeholder feedback to continuously improve food service operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, food service management, or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in menu planning, nutritional analysis, or dietetics within commercial, military, or institutional settings.
• Ability to pass contract medical requirements and maintain necessary facility credentials.
• Fluent reading, speaking, and comprehension of English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Food Service Management (FSM) or equivalent menu planning software.
• Strong knowledge of DoD or comparable nutritional standards.
• Excellent organizational abilities for complex menu documentation.
