Electrical Engineer – Sustainable Energy Solutions

About the role

URC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the Powering Health System Performance project, a Department of State‑funded initiative that will deliver reliable, sustainable electricity to priority health facilities across Uganda. The role will be based in Kampala and will report to the Senior Projects Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Design, install and commission sustainable energy solutions (e.g., solar PV, hybrid systems) for health facilities.
• Integrate remote monitoring and asset‑management platforms to track performance and enable preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with government officials and local partners to build capacity for long‑term operation and maintenance of energy assets.
• Provide technical guidance, documentation and reporting for project stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years (84 months) of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in power or renewable energy projects.
• Senior‑level professional with a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience working with government or large‑scale public‑health infrastructure projects.
