Employee Benefits Consultant

About the role

The Employee Benefits Consultant will serve as the primary control and coordination point for People & Culture (P&C) benefits administration in Uganda. You will manage the full benefits value chain, ensure data integrity, and deliver a positive employee experience across medical, retirement and risk benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end benefits administration, including enrollment, transaction processing and financial reconciliation.
• Provide advisory support to employees and line managers on benefit offerings.
• Maintain accurate benefit master data in the P&C Payroll and Core Master Data systems.
• Perform regular reconciliations of benefits payments and conduct post‑payment quality reviews.
• Execute first‑line quality assurance checks on benefit‑related data captures.
• Monitor service‑provider performance against Service Level Agreements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for benefits queries, including bursaries and funeral claims.
• Generate comprehensive benefits reports for senior management.
• Facilitate benefit awareness sessions and develop communication materials.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Psychology or Social Sciences.
• Post‑graduate degree in Finance & Accounting or Human Resources is preferred.
• 5‑7 years of experience in P&C operations with a strong focus on benefits administration, payroll or financial reconciliation.
• Proven experience handling large‑scale data sets and complex vendor relationships.
