About the role

YooKatale is seeking an Executive Chef to lead culinary operations for its mobile food market in Kampala. This full‑time, hybrid position combines on‑site kitchen management with remote planning to ensure high‑quality, consistent food offerings that align with the company’s mission of accessible, healthy food.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and refine menus, recipes, and food presentation for both physical and digital platforms.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including staff supervision, workflow coordination, and performance monitoring.
• Manage procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships to maintain cost efficiency and ingredient quality.
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design food concepts suitable for mobile delivery and packaging.
• Track kitchen metrics, control budgets, and drive continuous improvement.
• Train and mentor culinary staff, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high‑volume, innovative food service environment.
• Strong culinary education or certification (e.g., diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management).
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
