Fleet & Logistics Manager

About the role

The Fleet & Logistics Manager will oversee the safe, efficient and cost‑effective operation of the company’s vehicle fleet, drivers and transport activities. This includes maintaining vehicles, controlling fuel usage, planning routes and ensuring timely movement of raw materials and finished products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the company fleet (trucks, pickups, motorcycles) and keep accurate records of allocation, mileage, service history and compliance.
• Develop and enforce fuel management systems, monitor consumption, investigate variances and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Supervise drivers and transport staff, create schedules, manage leave and ensure adherence to safety and company policies.
• Plan and optimise delivery, collection and distribution routes, coordinating with production, procurement, warehouse, sales and finance teams.
• Ensure all vehicles and drivers meet statutory licensing, insurance and road‑safety requirements and handle incident investigations.
• Prepare regular reports on fleet utilisation, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, delivery performance and budget forecasts.
• Maintain a reliable database of vehicles, drivers, service providers and transport contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management or a related field.
• Minimum five years of experience managing fleets, drivers and transport operations.
• Proven ability to supervise driver teams, schedule vehicle usage and control transport costs.
• Experience in an agro‑processing, manufacturing or distribution environment is an advantage.
