Funded Traineeship in Political Press & Information (Uganda)

About the role

We are offering a funded traineeship of up to six months in the Political Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation in Uganda. The position is designed for recent graduates who wish to gain experience in diplomatic work, EU‑Uganda cooperation and international communication.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on EU‑Uganda cooperation and political topics.
• Draft analytical reports, briefings and summaries of meetings and events.
• Assist in data coordination, consolidating inputs from EU Member States.
• Support the preparation and execution of events and youth‑engagement initiatives.
• Participate in meetings, take notes and produce comprehensive reports.
• Contribute to communication and visibility activities, including social‑media content.
• Help maintain and organise archival records related to EU‑Uganda cooperation.

Required profile

• Residency in Uganda at the time of application.
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, economics, communications, history or a related field.
• Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
• Very good command of spoken and written English.
• High motivation, ability to work in a multicultural team and strong initiative.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience managing social‑media platforms.
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities.
