About the role
We are looking for a reliable Groundsman to maintain the university’s outdoor spaces in Kampala’s Kamwokya area. The role involves daily upkeep of lawns, gardens and surrounding landscape to ensure a pleasant environment for students, staff and visitors. You will work closely with the facilities team, follow safety procedures and report any hazards or maintenance needs to supervisors.
Key responsibilities
- Edge lawns and mow compounds regularly.
- Weed and mulch landscape beds.
- Trim hedges, shrubs and small trees.
- Remove dead, damaged or unwanted trees.
- Plant flowers, trees and other garden elements.
- Monitor plant health and carry out basic maintenance.
- Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper watering.
- Collect and dispose of garden waste and keep pathways clear.
Required profile
- At least O‑level certificate.
- Physical stamina for manual outdoor work.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Pro‑active attitude and willingness to work flexible hours.
- No prior experience required.
Required skills
- Gardening skills.
- Basic operation of gardening tools.
