Head of Programs

About the role

Head of Programs will provide strategic oversight for IsraAID Uganda’s multi‑sectoral programmes, ensuring delivery in line with the organisation’s global strategy and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead programme planning, design and implementation across WASH, Nutrition, Child Protection and emerging sectors in all field locations.
• Supervise senior program officers, provide coaching, manage performance and coordinate team meetings.
• Oversee programme quality through field visits, reviews, monitoring data and safeguarding feedback.
• Develop work plans, monitoring frameworks and ensure accurate reporting to Country Director and HQ.
• Maintain donor relations, prepare narrative reports, represent IsraAID in coordination forums and support proposal development.
• Build partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and community stakeholders, and support capacity building of partner CBOs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Public Health or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum six years of progressive humanitarian/programme experience, including at least three years in senior programme leadership.
• Proven experience managing multi‑sectoral programmes in refugee or displacement settings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage donor‑funded grants, reporting and resource mobilisation.

Required skills

• Project cycle management (design, implementation, monitoring, close‑out).
• MEAL systems development and data utilisation.
• Budget management and financial oversight of programme grants.
• Proposal and concept‑note writing, donor reporting.
• Strong command of English, report writing and MS Office.
