About the role
Our client, a well‑established pharmaceutical organization in Uganda, is looking for a Human Capital Executive to lead strategic and operational HR initiatives. The role involves overseeing talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compliance, learning and development, and HR administration while aligning with business goals and local labour legislation.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate end‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding to attract and retain top talent.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures and Ugandan employment legislation.
- Support performance management, including goal setting, appraisals and improvement plans.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Handle employee relations matters, disciplinary processes, grievances and conflict resolution.
- Coordinate training needs assessments and employee development programmes.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR information systems.
- Prepare HR reports and analyse workforce metrics for management decisions.
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan labour laws, statutory requirements and company policies.
- Administer compensation and benefits processes in collaboration with Finance.
- Support succession planning and talent management initiatives.
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRM, CIPD) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years HR experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong understanding of Ugandan labour laws and HR best practices.
- Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management and HR compliance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem‑solving capabilities.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
