International NRW Strategy & Performance Contract Adviser

About the role

The International NRW Strategy and Performance-Based Contract Adviser will work on‑site in Kampala, supporting utility clients in reducing non‑revenue water (NRW) through strategic planning and performance‑based contracting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current NRW levels, analyse water loss data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Develop and recommend technical, operational, and contractual measures to reduce water losses.
• Design performance indicators, incentive structures and monitoring mechanisms for NRW‑related contracts.
• Collaborate with utility leadership, engineering teams and commercial stakeholders to align strategies with broader infrastructure initiatives.
• Prepare reports, presentations and capacity‑building materials for client and internal audiences.
• Coordinate with AGX project managers to ensure integration of NRW strategies into connected‑system projects.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in non‑revenue water management, including water loss analysis and leakage detection.
• Proven experience designing and managing performance‑based contracts, defining KPIs, incentive mechanisms and risk allocation.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting for utility performance using spreadsheets, analytics platforms or specialised NRW software.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross‑functional teams and engage utility stakeholders effectively.
